Tanglin Mall Flood

Sunday, June 5, 2011

Netizens took video clips of flooding in Tanglin Mall this morning as the flood water rushed in suddenly without warning and trapping shocked passer-bys who had to rush to higher grounds.
Basements 1 and 2 as well as the ground level were flooded as businesses grinded to a halt. Foreign workers were seen clearing the flood waters and debris in the afternoon.
As this is the first time Tanglin Mall is flooded in fifteen years, some netizens wondered if the raising of Orchard Road in the aftermath of the floods there last year may have diverted the flood water down to Tanglin Road which was the hardest hit area this time.
