    A seizure, according to the University of Michigan Health System, is an episode of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. A common attack is a generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Causes of unconsciousness, convulsions or twitching of all four limbs, sometimes damage the tongue or mouth, and sometimes urinary incontinence. Other symptoms may include a pause in breathing and confusion, and weakness after the event.

    The Mayo Clinic, tonic-clonic seizures can sometimes be caused by problems with underlying health caused by:

    Very low glucose, sodium, calcium or magnesium
    Head injuries
    The use or withdrawal of drugs or alcohol
    Brain Tumors
    Strokes
    Some infections such as meningitis or encephalitis
    Injuries caused by oxygen deficiency
    Malformations of blood vessels in the brain
    Genetic syndromes
