Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU or earlier as Kota Open University announced that specified in the notice of the Government of Rajasthan, 21 September 2002) in 1987 as a pioneer of open learning and established in Rajasthan. The idea of creating an open university in the state of Rajasthan, has its origins in the observations of the Committee of the UGC under the chairmanship of the late Prof. G.     Create VMOU (Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University) with the merger of the two institutions namely, conducted correspondence courses. Institute for the Study of correspondence training, Jaipur and Udaipur (School of Correspondence) to strengthen and ensure proper coordination between the proliferation of large resources and distance learning to serve the people of the state of a high quality education uniform.
